Angela Santalbaro, the actress who played Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, will become the new English voice actor for Gwendolyn, the protagonist of the domestic action game Tides of Annihilation.
Previously, Jennifer English, known for her roles in Baldur's Gate 3 and Light & Shadow: Expedition 33, stepped down from the role. She explained that this decision was made to focus more on her physical and mental well-being, but she continues to collaborate with the development team as a consultant. It was also English who helped the team find a suitable replacement.
Jennifer Prime, the motion capture actress for Gwendolyn, confirmed the news. When asked if Santalbaro had indeed taken over the role, Prime gave an affirmative answer and joked that she no longer has to shout "Leon!" At the same time, Prime clarified that Santalbaro is responsible for voice acting, not motion capture.
The official introduction of the new actor is expected to take place during Gamescom 2026. At that time, players will hear Gwendolyn's updated English voice acting for the first time in the demo version of Tides of Annihilation.
