Ahead of the upcoming release of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Never Give Up, the animated film adaptation of FromSoftware's hardcore action game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the production team has unveiled new visuals. The release includes a short clip from the film and a set of atmospheric animated scene images.

The clip showcases a fierce battle between Wolf and Genichiro Ashina amidst swaying silver reeds. The new footage highlights a classic 2D animation style with cinematic quality, paying meticulous attention to detail—from the warriors' heavy breathing to the sharp strike of a blade cutting through absolute silence. In the concurrently released stills, the creators emphasize the relationship between Wolf and Kuro, the Divine Heir. In one scene, the young master hands his katana to the ninja. The creators stress that this animated adaptation will delve deeper into the emotional bond between the two, which goes far beyond a traditional master-servant relationship.
The original Japanese voice cast returns in full: Daisuke Namikawa (Wolf), Kenjiro Tsuda (Genichiro Ashina), and Miyuki Sato (Kuro). In an interview, Daisuke Namikawa, who voices the protagonist, stated that in the game, he viewed Wolf as an utterly unbreakable and calm warrior. However, in the animated medium, where scenes flow seamlessly, the protagonist's personality reveals an unexpected side: he appears more human and vulnerable.
The animated film Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Never Give Up will premiere in Japan on September 4th, with a limited three-week theatrical run. Crunchyroll has promised a global release of the anime before the end of this year.
