The historical drama "The Maserati Brothers" has expanded its cast, with Al Pacino confirmed to join. He will star alongside Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba, with the film scheduled for a theatrical release in fall 2026.
Al Pacino will play Vincenzo Vaccaro, a businessman and key ally of the Maserati family who also served as an investor during the early days of the automotive venture. The second phase of filming began in Rome in June 2026.
Directed by Bobby Moresco, "The Maserati Brothers" tells the story of the founding of the Italian luxury car brand Maserati. Established in Bologna in 1914, the company was founded by three brothers: Alfieri, Ettore, and Ernesto.
Moresco previously directed the automotive biopic "Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend." Producer Andrea Iervolino continues to helm this biographical project focusing on key figures in the Italian automotive industry.
The cast also includes Gina Lapianna, Tatiana Luter, Michele Morrone, and Salvatore Esposito. Morrone and Esposito portray Alfieri and Ettore Maserati, respectively, while Hopkins plays a powerful financier of the era.
This marks the second on-screen collaboration between Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins since their 2016 film "Misconduct." To authentically recreate the period, the production team built dozens of vehicles based on 1920s and 1930s Maserati designs.
