Metro 2039 Launches on February 4, 2027 with Ray Tracing Performance Mode on Consoles

Developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver have announced that Metro 2039 will be released on all platforms on February 4, 2027!

The first console gameplay trailer for Metro 2039, captured entirely in real-time on PS5 Pro using performance mode at 60 frames per second:

On launch day, ray tracing performance mode (60 FPS) will be available on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X. Prior to the official release, we will gradually reveal technical details, system requirements, and different game modes for all versions of Metro 2039.

Metro 2039 is primarily a narrative-driven first-person shooter. However, in this trailer, we've chosen to let the narrative take a back seat, focusing instead on gameplay, environmental details, combat systems, and the technological advancements made since Metro EXODUS™ in 2019.

Metro 2039 fully leverages the hardware capabilities of the latest generation of consoles and our proprietary 4A Engine, marking the first title in the series designed from the ground up with ray tracing as its foundation.

For nearly two decades, we have been crafting the Metro series, accumulating a wealth of experience. This time, we are finally able to present this desolate yet captivating world with unprecedented fidelity.

Of course, there is much more we wish to share with you. For instance, who exactly is the "Mysterious Man," how did he delve into the darkest depths of Moscow, and what are his true motives? But those stories can wait. For now, let's hear what media outlets, content creators, and players who have recently tried the game have to say.
