Sony Interactive Entertainment announced last night that Capcom's classic title, the only turn-based combat entry in the series, Mega Man X: Command Mission, is making a comeback. It is scheduled to launch this month on the PlayStation Plus Classics catalog. Stay tuned.
Mega Man X: Command Mission is a role-playing game released by Capcom in July 2004 for the PS2 and GameCube platforms. It is the only RPG title in the Mega Man X series, completely departing from the series' traditional action gameplay.
The story follows X, Zero, and the bounty hunter Spider as they are sent to Gigantis Island to investigate a rebellion among Reploids. In addition to popular series characters X, Zero, and Axl, four new characters—Spider, Massimo, Marino, and Cinnamon—have been added, covering roles such as warrior, tank, and healer. Up to three characters can be controlled in each battle.
