Nintendo has partnered with the game music label Laced Records to release the vinyl soundtrack for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." The product comes in two formats, with the limited deluxe edition featuring an 8-LP box set containing a total of 130 tracks.
Another double-vinyl edition includes 34 tracks. The 8-LP deluxe set is priced at $194.99, while the double-vinyl edition is priced at $49.99. This also marks the first time Nintendo has released vinyl game soundtracks outside of Japan.
The deluxe edition features a built-in cardboard storage box. When pulled out, it reveals eight vinyl records. The triangular inner sleeves feature illustrations of Link climbing mountains and the sunset over Hyrule. Each record also comes with its own sleeve and different key visual artwork from the game.
The records in the set have a white base with alternating blue and gold splatter effects, while other versions offer standard black vinyl. The eight records are arranged around different themes, creating a relatively complete listening structure from the music that can be encountered in various orders within the game.
For example, Side A of the second record focuses on field music heard while exploring on foot or horseback, while Side B mainly features battle tracks, including mini-boss and shrine battle themes. Some records correspond to the Divine Beast questlines, covering themes related to the Champions, towns, and dungeons; Side B of the first record includes Kass's performances, which prominently feature the accordion.
The sleeve artwork for each record corresponds to the track themes. The field theme sleeve depicts Link and his horse preparing to set off, while the Rito Village-related record features Link battling Windblight Ganon above the Divine Beast Vah Medoh. Currently, this music is also available to listen to via Nintendo's own music streaming app.
