A new trailer for the platformer "Upfall" showcases protagonist Rabby's movement abilities, level mechanics, as well as collection and time trial challenges. The game offers over 20 hours of content in a single playthrough, taking players through multiple distinct worlds.
Rabby is a mechanical rabbit. Due to a thruster module being mistakenly installed where the movement module should be, it has short but powerful mechanical legs that allow it to leap like a cannonball, stomp on enemies, or bounce off walls.
In addition to running, stomping, dashing, and double-jumping, Rabby can instantly teleport to the landing spot after acquiring a Warp Ball. Players need to plan their routes in advance, using these abilities to solve puzzles, avoid hazards, and complete platforming levels of increasing difficulty.
Enemies are also part of the level mechanics. Players can stomp on enemies' heads to manipulate, provoke, or protect them, then use their behavior to find ways forward. Enemies that initially block Rabby's path may become helpful tools for clearing the level in the next moment.
Collectibles called "Batteries" are scattered throughout the levels; some are on the critical path, while others require exploration to find. At the end of each level, gems are awarded based on the number collected, and reaching a certain gem count is required to unlock new areas.
Collecting all batteries in a level unlocks the corresponding time trial. Completing the challenge also rewards you with the level's final gem. Aside from optional high-difficulty content, the game allows players to progress at a more relaxed pace.
The story unfolds in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world filled with giant fruits and robots. As you explore, you'll encounter various characters, gradually piece together the world's history, and investigate the origins of the robots, the ceaseless operation of assembly lines, and themes of humanity and identity.
