Recently, Famitsu released estimated data for physical game software sales in the Japanese market from August 24 to August 30, 2026.
Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Switch 2 was the best-selling new release this week, with first-week physical sales of 27,604 copies. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 followed closely behind, with 12,691 copies for the PS5 version, 8,624 for the Switch 2 version, and 5,590 for the Switch version, totaling 26,905 copies in its first week.
In terms of hardware, Switch 2 sold 22,265 units, the Switch family sold 8,847 units, the PS5 family sold 7,351 units, and the Xbox Series family sold 298 units.
