Housemarque has announced that Saros will receive the "Zenith" update later this year, available free of charge to existing players. This update will introduce continuous boss battles and New Game Plus modes, with the first trailer now released.
The continuous boss battle mode is called "Overlord Raid," where players must challenge multiple bosses in succession. The system will rate player performance and feature a global leaderboard for comparing results.
The New Game Plus mode is called "Eclipse Layer" and will unlock after completing the main story. This mode offers new Carcosa modifications and other progression options, adding more variety to post-game playthroughs.
The "Zenith" update will also add accessibility features such as gyroscope aiming, slow-motion, and high-contrast visuals. Housemarque has also teased new trophies and "secrets," with more content to be revealed in the coming months.
Saros is currently a PS5 exclusive, positioned as the spiritual successor to Returnal. The specific release date for the "Zenith" update has not yet been announced.
