According to the PlayStation Blog, AdHoc Studio, the developer of Dispatch, contributed to the development of Until Dawn 2, helping to write the script for the game.
Official Blog:
Hi everyone! I'm Stu Tilley from Firesprite, and I'm thrilled to announce that Until Dawn 2 will launch on PS5 on January 28, 2027. Get ready, because every choice you make matters.
A group of YouTubers form a fake ghost-hunting squad and bring their brave chicken companion to Autumn Island to film their show, The Cutting Room. Can you lead them all to escape successfully? Or will the horrifying terror hidden within this beautiful yet deadly paradise claim the lives of some... or even all of them?
Story co-created with Dispatch developer AdHoc Studio
We partnered with our friends at AdHoc Studio to craft the game's narrative. They are the creators behind the critically acclaimed hit game Dispatch. You'll experience a richly layered story featuring well-developed characters, sharp dialogue, tense relationships, difficult choices, and inevitably... unapologetically gruesome deaths. Every choice, every interaction, can trigger a chain of dramatic consequences.
Watch the pre-order trailer
Don't miss our new trailer: You'll see The Cutting Room team investigating Blackwood Sanatorium, filming an episode about the tragic event that occurred there 12 years ago. Izzy (played by Sarah Catherine Hook), the team's new intern, discovers something unexpected, which chillingly upends their plans.
Later, at the Sydney Horror Convention, they meet Yuna (played by Gia Kim), a survivor of a terrifying supernatural attack. She pulls down her collar to reveal dark necrotic scars. Her warning prompts the group to head to a remote island in the South Pacific. The island has been abandoned since a luxury resort mysteriously closed there in the 1970s. However, the island hides centuries-old secrets and a deep desire for revenge. And The Cutting Room team is walking straight into this crisis.
Every choice you make will influence the final outcome. In the trailer, Owen (played by Dacre Montgomery), the arrogant star of The Cutting Room, faces a dilemma: should he follow the signal to help his missing friend Nate (played by Spence Moore II), or detour across a rickety bridge to investigate an unusually lively bar? Could straying from the path to find Nate lead to helpful clues? And if he doesn't go after Nate, will it leave him exposed to unknown threats lurking in the shadows?
Meanwhile, Mina (played by Camila Senna), co-host of The Cutting Room, is torn inside. She faces a heart-wrenching decision: the network demands a live sacrifice ritual on camera. Will you give in and sacrifice the chicken to please the higher-ups, or set the chicken free and complete the ritual at the risk of bleeding yourself?
