To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the classic manga Kochikame, it has been officially announced that the new TV anime "New Kochikame" will premiere in 2027. The production staff and main voice cast have been revealed. Stay tuned.
Originally titled "Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo," Kochikame is a shonen manga by Japanese mangaka Osamu Akimoto, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 1976 and concluded in 2016. The story follows Kankichi Ryotsu, a police officer from the Kameari Park Front Police Box under the Katsushika Police Station, and his many colleagues at their station in Asakusa, Taito Ward, Tokyo, depicting their work and daily lives.
The production team for "New Kochikame" remains Gallop, the animation studio behind the original series. Directed by Tsutomu Daichi, the main cast includes Fukuji Ochiai as Kankichi Ryotsu, Shota Aoi as Keiichi Nakagawa, M·A·O as Reiko Akimoto, and Yorimitsu Sakamoto as Daikichiro Ohara (Chief).
