GTA 6's New Marketing Stunt: Miami Considers Transforming a County into Vice City

GTA 6's marketing campaign has been nothing short of spectacular, from the massive leak that successfully captured players' attention to the 20-minute extended gameplay reveal on Netflix, which thoroughly whetted players' appetites. Recently, news has emerged that the Miami-Dade County government intends to promote GTA 6 by transforming several real-world locations to mimic those in the game.

According to the Miami Herald, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava's administration has been negotiating with Rockstar Games about transforming Miami-Dade County into a real-life version of Vice City to promote GTA 6.

The Mayor's Office currently seems interested in the proposal, viewing it as an excellent opportunity to promote both the game and Miami-Dade County. As part of the collaboration, sections of Miami International Airport would be designed in the style of Vice City Airport.

Additionally, the county government plans to promote GTA 6 through its trains and manhole covers scattered across the area. Of course, if this marketing agreement is accepted, its scope will likely extend beyond these initial proposals.

However, there is currently one issue: Sheriff Rosi Cordero-Stutz opposes the deal. The sheriff believes that the GTA game promotes violence, murder, and robbery, and therefore should not be associated with Miami-Dade County in any way.

Given these developments, it remains to be seen whether the Miami city government will ultimately finalize this marketing deal. Rockstar and the GTA series have always excelled at leveraging real-world locations for promotion, so it would certainly be exciting if GTA 6 were promoted with Miami as its backdrop.
