Masahiro Ito, the monster designer for the Silent Hill series, recently took to Twitter to recall his "tragic experiences" while developing Silent Hill games at Konami. He bluntly stated that during the eight years he worked on the Silent Hill series, he gave up on finding a girlfriend and didn't even go on a single date.
He reflected that if he hadn't sacrificed his personal life back then and had gotten married earlier, he might have been happier.
“During the eight years I spent at Konami developing Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2, and Silent Hill 3, I gave up on finding a girlfriend. I didn't even go on a single date with a woman. I sacrificed my rest time, even sleeping on cardboard laid out on the floor. But even in my wildest imagination, I never thought I would end up like this on X.
To be honest, I've been thinking lately that if I hadn't sacrificed my personal life back then and had found a girlfriend and gotten married earlier, I might have been happier.”
In response to netizens, Masahiro Ito revealed that he is now 54 years old and has almost given up on the idea of getting married. However, he still feels a bit envious whenever he sees others shopping at the supermarket with their children.
