Counter-Strike 2 was recently found to have a serious security vulnerability that allows cheaters to forge VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) ban signals, causing the game to crash and cancel the match when they are about to lose.
According to community sources, some private cheat clients have added a feature that can forge network packets triggered when a player is VAC-banned. The game system interprets this signal as a genuine ban action, but since it considers the player "already banned," it does not impose a second real penalty. Meanwhile, the match is immediately terminated by the VAC Live system, rendering the entire game void.
The biggest threat of this vulnerability is that malicious players can freely manipulate match outcomes. Cheaters can play normally throughout the match, and once they realize they are about to lose, they trigger a forged signal at the last moment to forcibly cancel the game. According to player reports, cheaters in competitive matchmaking are now openly using soft cheats without hesitation, as they know they can terminate the match at any time to avoid defeat.
This vulnerability is currently affecting competitive matchmaking, with many players reporting a severe deterioration in the match environment. As of press time, Valve has not issued an official statement or patch regarding this issue.
