PLAYISM announced that The Exit 8, a walking simulator developed by KOTAKE CREATE, has surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide. To celebrate this milestone, a sale is now underway for the original title and its sequel, Platform 8.
The Exit 8 is a short experience inspired by Japanese underground passages, liminal spaces, and "The Backrooms." Players are trapped in an seemingly endless underground passage, where they must observe their surroundings for any "anomalies" and find their way to Exit 8.
This sale covers all platforms except the PlayStation Store, and includes The Exit 8 and Platform 8. In addition, commemorative ads have been displayed on the Happy Board in Dogenzaka, Shibuya, for one week starting September 7.
In addition to the game itself, The Exit 8 has spawned derivative content such as a film, manga, and novels. The title is currently available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, as well as iOS and Android.
