A user named Erek recently tested the RTX 5090 running DLSS 5 in NBA 2K27, resulting in a burnt connector. The user observed that the GPU's power consumption exceeded 600W, far surpassing the recommended limit.
For reference, MSI recommends a rated power of 575W for this connector, while the user measured the graphics card's power consumption at approximately 613.5W. However, this figure represents the total power consumption of the entire motherboard, not just the RTX 5090 alone.
Nevertheless, the normal power consumption of this graphics card typically ranges between 450W and 600W. The overall value exceeding this range highlights the immense strain DLSS 5 currently places on the system.
