After a long five-year wait, Valheim 1.0 has officially launched. Following the full release, the Viking survival simulator saw a significant surge in player numbers on Steam.
At the time of writing, around 160,000 players were concurrently playing Valheim on Steam—the highest number since April 2021. However, Valheim hasn't pulled off a miracle yet. At least not for now.
The game peaked over five years ago with 502,387 concurrent players, thanks to memes going viral online and players still largely confined by the pandemic at the time.
Today's Steam statistics may have been influenced by Valheim's launch on consoles, including PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
