Multiple Unannounced Silent Hill Titles in Development! Settings Won't Be Limited

At Gamescom 2026, Motoi Okamoto, producer of Konami's Silent Hill series, revealed in an interview that several unannounced Silent Hill titles are currently in development. This means that following Silent Hill f and the upcoming Silent Hill: Townfall, the series' revival is far more ambitious than players might have imagined.

In the interview, Okamoto stated, "There are many projects currently in development that have not yet been announced." According to him, Konami is simultaneously exploring and producing multiple projects, but he could not disclose further details at this time.

Okamoto had previously mentioned the goal of releasing a new Silent Hill title every year, a vision that has now become clearer. He emphasized that future Silent Hill games will not necessarily resemble each other—development teams will be encouraged to boldly experiment with different countries, settings, and styles of horror.

He explained that sticking to the same American town setting would eventually limit narrative possibilities and cause player fatigue. This is precisely why the team set Silent Hill f in 1960s Japan, while the next title, Silent Hill: Townfall, chooses a remote Scottish island as its backdrop.

The next major installment in the series, Silent Hill: Townfall, is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026. Meanwhile, Konami has multiple projects in development that have not even received official titles yet.

As it stands, Konami's revival of Silent Hill is not a one-off nostalgia play, but a comprehensive brand strategy aimed at transforming Silent Hill into an evolving horror game IP. The key challenge moving forward will be for the various development teams to maintain the series' signature atmosphere while avoiding turning it into an assembly-line product.
