Recently, the phenomenal multiplayer co-op survival-building game Valheim officially launched its 1.0 version. Since entering Early Access in 2021, Valheim has been accompanying players for over five years. The game quickly swept across the globe after launch, with Steam's historical peak concurrent player count exceeding 500,000 and cumulative sales surpassing 10 million copies, making it one of the most representative titles in the multiplayer co-op survival-building genre in recent years.
IGN has now given it a perfect score of 10, stating: "Valheim is the fulfillment of the ultimate promise of survival-building adventure—it delivers on this commitment with its stunning art style, deadly dungeons, charming home-building mechanics, and breathtakingly vast landscapes."

Its stunning art style, deadly bosses and dungeons, charming home-building mechanics, and breathtakingly vast landscapes—each element is like a note in a melody that makes my blood boil—to explore the surging seas, defeat the most powerful beasts, and share a hot meal with brothers and sisters behind shield walls. The journey that Minecraft began for me in 2010 has reached its conclusion in Valheim. This is the ultimate promise of survival-building adventure, fulfilled and carved into the bones of the earth. Valhalla is calling. And even though I've already invested over 100 hours in this new 1.0 playthrough (plus hundreds more during Early Access), I'm so reluctant to see it end that I can't wait to answer that call again. A day spent in the sun is a life well lived.
