Retroid has announced the pricing and key specifications for the Pocket Duo dual-screen handheld. The flagship version comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, priced at $270; the lower-spec Pocket Duo Lite is priced at $150.
A $20 discount coupon can be used for pre-orders of the Pocket Duo flagship version. The Lite version has half the RAM and storage capacity of the flagship, namely 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Pre-order slots for both versions are currently sold out, and the specific launch date has not yet been announced.
This handheld features a top-and-bottom dual-screen design, with a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED main screen and a second 4.5-inch screen with 960p resolution. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 processor and runs on Android 16. Games can be obtained via the Play Store, and it also offers emulation options for Nintendo DS, 3DS, and other retro gaming platforms.
The Pocket Duo is available in multiple color schemes, including versions resembling GameCube Purple, Game Boy Gray/White, Transparent Blue, and Atomic Purple. The dual-screen structure is primarily designed for use cases involving dual-screen platforms like the Nintendo DS and 3DS.
The Lite version of the similar AYN Thor is equipped with a Snapdragon 865 processor and priced at $259, while the Base version uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and is priced at $329. In comparison, the Pocket Duo covers two price points with its $150 Lite version and $270 flagship version, but the official release date for both models is yet to be confirmed by the handheld gaming manufacturer.
