Less than a day after the crowdfunding campaign for the "Macross Delta: Passionate Walküre" revival project began, the amount raised surpassed 70 million yen. Since the initial goal of 30 million yen has already been met, the buy-to-play version of the game is now confirmed for release on Steam, iOS, and Android platforms.
AUGUST launched this crowdfunding campaign on September 10 at 8:00 PM. The project reached its initial goal of 30 million yen within about an hour; as of September 11 at 6:00 PM, 1,680 supporters had contributed approximately 70.8 million yen, leaving about 4.2 million yen to reach the additional stretch goal of 75 million yen for console version development.
This title is a remake based on the original mobile game, which launched in August 2017 and ceased operations in June 2022. The original was a rhythm game featuring the Macross series, incorporating its songs and presenting stage effects through performance switching, animated visuals, and 3D songstresses.
With the shift to a buy-to-play model, the development team will readjust the game system, removing payment and stamina mechanics while retaining the performance content from the original live-service version. The system and interface will also be optimized for keyboard and mouse controls, with further simplification of the overall layout and design.
The base game is planned to include 50 songs. Players will start with over 1,000 four-star and higher cards, as well as more than 20 outfits for each songstress. Card star-up draws will be changed to a box gacha mechanism, with required items obtainable through gameplay, eliminating additional payments.
Original songs, certain cards, and outfits not included in the base game will be provided later via additional DLC. The project is being developed by xeen, who participated in the original development, and published by AUGUST. The team also includes former project participants and players from back then.
The buy-to-play version of "Macross Delta: Passionate Walküre" is scheduled to launch on Steam, iOS, and Android in spring 2027. The crowdfunding campaign will continue until October 31 at 11:59 PM.
