Recently, AMD launched the Ryzen 5 7500 and Ryzen 5 5500F processors for the AM5 and AM4 platforms, respectively. The new products are now available in the US, and AMD has announced their official Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP): $189 (approximately RMB 1,267.87) for the Ryzen 5 7500 and $99 (approximately RMB 664.12) for the Ryzen 5 5500F.
Like the Ryzen 5 7500F, the Ryzen 5 7500 is also based on the Zen 4 architecture, featuring 6 cores and 12 threads. The only difference is the inclusion of integrated graphics. It has a base clock of 3.7GHz and a boost clock of 5.0GHz, with 6MB of L2 cache and 32MB of L3 cache, and a TDP of 65W. However, the integrated graphics in the Ryzen 5 7500 are quite modest, with only 2 CUs based on the RDNA 2 architecture running at 2.2GHz. This is essentially a "display adapter" level GPU, suitable only for daily office tasks and entertainment, or for troubleshooting when building a PC or if the discrete graphics card fails.
In comparison, the boxed version of the Ryzen 5 7500F currently costs around $135. This price difference may not be worth it for users who rely on discrete graphics cards.
The Ryzen 5 5500F featured here is based on the Zen 3 architecture, with 6 cores and 12 threads. Its base and boost clocks are 3.0GHz and 4.4GHz respectively, and it has a TDP of 65W. Although the Ryzen 5 5500F uses the Vermeer chip rather than the Cezanne chip found in the Ryzen 5 5500, AMD still limits its L3 cache to 16MB, which is half that of the Ryzen 5 5600.
Currently, the Ryzen 5 5500F and Ryzen 5 5500 are priced similarly. It is expected that prices will likely drop in the future, creating a wider gap between the two.
