At the opening ceremony of BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard announced the launch of the new campaign for Warcraft III: Reforged, "Forsaken Kingdom." Players will witness the fall of Lordaeron and the rise of the Forsaken. The new DLC is now unlocked and playable, accompanied by the free major 3.0 "Definitive Edition" update.

The new campaign consists of a prologue and three main chapters, offering over 30 hours of gameplay. The story fills the narrative gap between Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne, focusing on the complete storyline of Lordaeron's fall and the rise of the Forsaken. The prologue revisits classic tragedies such as Arthas patricide, the fall of Lordaeron, and the Culling of Stratholme. The main chapters center on Sylvanas, detailing how the undead broke free from the Lich King's mental control and established Undercity beneath the ruins of Lordaeron. Players will face various opponents, including the Scarlet Crusade, the Dreadlord Balnazzar, and the Scourge forces of Naxxramas, experiencing the story through the dual perspectives of Arthas and Sylvanas. A new neutral hero unit, the "Forsaken Paladin," is also unlocked, with the story's conclusion setting the stage for the World of Warcraft: Forever worldview.
The free major 3.0 update brings extensive overhauls to the base game: a new "Definitive Edition" graphics mode is introduced, numerous building and unit models have been remade, lighting and shadow effects are improved, and players can freely switch between the original and updated art styles.
