The demo for "BOMBANANA!" has surpassed 6 million players and topped the Steam Next Fest charts. While the demo only showcased some core gameplay mechanics, the Turkish indie development team Lefto Studio has revealed all the features included in the full release. "BOMBANANA!" is scheduled to launch on September 2, 2026.
Full features of the official release include:
● 3 Game Modes
○ Campaign Mode: Contains 30 carefully designed levels by the development team, with difficulty increasing progressively.
○ Endless Mode: Procedurally generated levels that progress in waves with increasing difficulty.
○ Custom Mode: Players can create their own levels by adjusting bomb difficulty, detonation time, module types, environmental distractions, and error tolerance.
● 14 New Puzzle Modules:
○ 11 Standard Puzzle Modules
○ 3 Chaos Modules: Special modules designed to keep the Blind Monkey overwhelmed
● Environmental Interaction: Players can now interact with objects in the environment to do what monkeys do best, rather than seriously defusing bombs.
● Environmental Distractions: New events that disrupt bomb-defusal communication have been added, including power outages, noise, and hazardous items. Players must interact with the environment to eliminate these distractions so they can focus on the most important task: flipping each other off. Speaking of which...
● Player Interaction: All monkeys can now flip each other off! Other emotes are available for interaction too, but flipping each other off is definitely the most important one.
● Slapping: Players can now slap each other—a truly essential feature.
● Voice-Synced Lip Animation: When players use voice chat in the lobby or during gameplay, the monkeys' lip movements sync with their speech.
● Emotes for All Monkeys: All players can use gestures and actions from the emote wheel.
● Art Overhaul: All in-game objects have been remade with hand-painted textures to highlight the game's unique style.
● Server Browser: Players can join games via the server browser or room codes without needing to add Steam friends.
● Random Role Assignment: Players can randomly assign roles in the lobby.
● Colorblind Mode: Adjusted object and UI colors to accommodate the visual needs of two types of colorblind players.
● Achievement System: Players can unlock 16 new achievements.
● New Levels: The initial release will include a brand-new airplane scenario with unique objects and environmental interaction mechanics. More new levels are currently in development.
Game Introduction:
"BOMBANANA!" is a chaotic three-player co-op bomb-defusal game where each player only has access to partial information. The Mute Monkey, Blind Monkey, and Deaf Monkey must work together, or it's BOOM!
Establishing effective communication is key to the game, and there are no standard answers. Players will face plenty of misunderstandings, blame-shifting, and desperate body language—friendships may not survive intact.
Building on classic bomb-defusal party gameplay seen in titles like "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes," "BOMBANANA!" adds fresh creativity (and a banana or two), turning every round into a crazy, joyful, race-against-time challenge!
