GungHo Online Entertainment has officially announced B.L.U.E. NOVA, a free-to-play cooperative PvE third-person shooter. The game is scheduled to launch on Steam in 2027, with support for English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
B.L.U.E. NOVA will be featured at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The GungHo booth will screen exclusive venue-only footage and offer limited-edition souvenirs featuring original game artwork to attendees.
The game features online cooperative gameplay, allowing players to enter the battlefield solo and encounter other players during missions, eventually forming large-scale battles with up to 30 participants. Using the "R.I.N.G." system, players can form squads on the fly to jointly face off against waves of AI forces.
By joining the "R.I.N.G.," teams can unleash "Infinite Barrage" attacks without needing to reload. This connection strengthens as players continue to fight cooperatively, allowing them to release powerful ultimate skills. In addition to swarms of mechanical enemies, the battlefield will feature giant foes and towering structures.
Players must break through enemy lines with their allies, destroy barrier towers scattered across the area, and then launch an assault on the main tower at the center of the battlefield. The game features multiple heroes with unique abilities, each possessing individual skills and ultimate abilities. Players can also customize their characters' appearances using various skins.
In the game's setting, humanity learns that a super flare predicted for the year 2200 will threaten Earth, prompting them to develop the planet DIVAL as a future colony. The AI "EVE," tasked with managing the planet, subsequently goes rogue, forming a mechanical army called "Singula" and seizing control of DIVAL, sparking a prolonged war between humans and AI. Players step into the battlefield as USF heroes to fight for control of the planet.
It has been confirmed that Seraphy, Rico, Logi, and JJ, the four members of SNIVPA, GungHo's virtual idol group, are playable hero characters in the game. The group's debut single, "Too Rich, Too Bold," will serve as the theme song for B.L.U.E. NOVA.
