During the "Opening Night Live" broadcast at Gamescom on August 26, the new mobile entry in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Travelers, unveiled its first promotional video featuring the original Elder Dragon, the "Prismalight Dragon."

The "Prismalight Dragon" is the cover monster for Monster Hunter Travelers and the first original Elder Dragon introduced in this title. Its form features magnificent wings that shimmer like arrows of light, resembling a sun high in the sky. Sightings are extremely rare, with existing records found only in the ancient legends of "Isolencia Island," the game's setting.
In the footage revealed today, an adventurer senses the imminent arrival of a monster after spotting a mysterious aurora phenomenon. Suddenly, the "Prismalight Dragon," radiating golden and iridescent glow, makes its appearance. The monster calmly gazes down at the adventurer before transforming into a sun-like fireball, engulfing Everythinggj around it and demonstrating its overwhelming power.
Monster Hunter Travelers is the first open-world mobile game in the Monster Hunter series, launching on iOS and Android platforms with an expected release within 2026. Set in a vast natural environment, players can explore diverse landscapes such as grasslands, deserts, snow-capped mountains, and volcanoes, enjoying seamless hunting experiences without area transitions.
This title retains the series' classic 14 weapon types and introduces a unique "Special Technique" system. For multiplayer, the game supports co-op for up to 4 players, while also debuting the "Raid Mode," which allows up to 16 players to team up and challenge colossal monsters.
Developed by Tencent's TiMi Studio Group under license from Capcom, pre-registration for the game opened today.
