Analysts from DM BOŚ brokerage have offered an optimistic forecast for the future expansion of the legendary RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Experts estimate that the major story expansion, Ballad of the Past, will be released in the first quarter of 2027. Furthermore, the project is expected to generate over 700 million PLN ($188 million) in revenue for the Polish studio CD Projekt Red within the first 12 months after launch.
The report released by the brokerage further explains that this substantial figure corresponds to approximately 11.4 million copies of the expansion sold worldwide. Considering that the base game, The Witcher 3, remains one of the best-selling games in history, analysts believe these numbers are entirely achievable.
For CD Projekt Red, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, this new expansion will be the first major project in The Witcher universe since the release of Blood and Wine in 2016. As the studio continues to support Cyberpunk 2077 and develop a new trilogy, returning to the highly acclaimed The Witcher 3 has sparked significant enthusiasm among both fans and investors.
