G2A.COM released a user survey in a sponsored collaborative article: When discussing purchase formats for major titles like Grand Theft Auto VI, 38% of respondents chose digital downloads, while 27% opted for physical discs. As game sales increasingly shift to digital channels, players' choices have also expanded to include purchasing platforms, prices, and payment methods.
The survey targeted over 2,000 users of the G2A.COM platform. In addition to respondents who chose digital or disc versions, the remaining 35% stated they had no preference or did not intend to purchase the games mentioned in the question.
The article points out that in the past, choosing between physical and digital copies was the most straightforward decision when buying games. As physical releases have gradually declined, players still compare different stores, product offers, and payment methods within digital channels. The PC gaming market, which has long been dominated by digital distribution, serves as an example of this purchasing choice.
Physical content also continues to influence the decisions of some respondents. In the survey, 59% stated that physical edition extras such as steelbooks and art books could affect their purchasing choices.
