Sony Interactive Entertainment opened applications for purchasing the PS5 Pro at the Japanese Sony Store on September 28. The model being sold is the CFI-7100B01 with a 2TB SSD; if the number of applications exceeds the planned sales volume, purchase eligibility will be determined by lottery.
Applicants must use a Sony account registered in Japan and accumulate 60 hours of gameplay on PS4 and PS5 with that account between September 27, 2024, and 23:59 on September 27, 2026. Additionally, the login ID for the Sony account and My Sony ID must be the same.
Applications will close at 23:59 on October 7. If applications exceed availability, lottery results are scheduled to be announced around October 26. Winners must complete their purchase at the Sony Store within the specified period.
Sony also plans to hold another lottery for unsuccessful applicants to purchase any units remaining from winners who fail to complete their purchases within the deadline. The suggested retail price for the PS5 Pro is 137,980 yen, including tax.
