The Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 multiplayer mod, KCD Multiplayer, entered open beta on September 24. Players who own the Steam version of the game can now download the mod and dedicated server tools to set up their own servers and explore 15th-century Bohemia with friends.
The mod has not yet received its official release. The current version offers shared worlds, custom characters, proximity voice chat, and emotes. Players can also join public servers directly to experience the mod without needing to set up their own server first.
This mod currently does not support cooperative progression through the main story with friends. The mod announcement clearly states that there are no storylines or quests on servers, and multiplayer worlds do not affect single-player saves. Each server runs a single map, with options including the Trosky countryside, Kuttenberg, or the monastery in Klášter.
The developers hope players will use the mod to create diverse multiplayer experiences, including servers where participants role-play according to the game's setting. Servers support Lua scripting, allowing server owners to configure character spawn points, weather, combat systems, and more.
The developers also remind players that this is still an early access build, so issues may arise during gameplay. Another multiplayer mod for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, called Kingdoms Connected, is also in open beta, giving players two different mods to try out at present.
