Over the past week, numerous leaked videos of GTA VI have surfaced, and Rockstar Games has just released a statement apologizing to fans. Fans have been waiting a long time for more news and an official gameplay showcase, but never expected to meet the game in this way. The company stated that this leak incident left them "heartbroken." The full game demo will be released on August 28.

Everyone,
We know that many people have been waiting for our response to what happened over the past week. Frankly speaking, seeing leaked gameplay footage of GTA VI in this way has been truly heartbreaking for the entire development team. Clearly, we never wanted you to see the game like this after waiting so long. We are deeply sorry that all of this has taken so long—whether it's getting the game to completion (which is nearly done now!), revealing more game details and an official gameplay demo, or providing you with the various information you've been eager to know, it has all taken longer than we anticipated.
We are very much looking forward to showing you the extended showcase tomorrow. It has taken longer to prepare this content than we had hoped, but as with Everythinggj we do, we know we must exceed your expectations, and we are determined to present this game at the level you expect and deserve. Although it is unfortunate that this leak may have already affected the intended gameplay experience due to partial spoilers, we still hope everyone will patiently wait a little longer until November 19th to experience the game for themselves.
We also want to thank all the players who have sent us support and encouragement over the past week. Your words mean far more to the entire team than you can imagine. At the end of the day, this game is made for you. Without you, we wouldn't have had the opportunity to make these games.
