PS5 Emulator Can Launch Marvel's Wolverine, But Gameplay Is Not Yet Possible

Recently, foreign media outlet InsiderGaming reported that less than two weeks after the release of Sony's PS5 exclusive blockbuster "Marvel's Wolverine," a PS5 emulator on PC has managed to launch the game and successfully load the main menu interface. However, there is still a huge gap before it becomes actually playable.

The test PC configuration for the demo video featured an AMD R7 7800X3D processor paired with an RTX 5090 flagship graphics card. Even with this high-end hardware, the average frame rate in the game's menu interface was only 2 FPS, with a maximum of just 15 FPS. Currently, the emulator cannot load actual gameplay levels, and attempting to enter the gameplay section will most likely result in a crash.

"Marvel's Wolverine" officially launched on the PS5 platform on September 15. Media reviews praised the game's combat design and voice acting, but also pointed out that its formulaic story and lack of innovation limit the title's potential.

InsiderGaming stated that developing modern console emulators is extremely challenging. Being able to launch a newly released title within a short time is itself a technical milestone for the emulator community, but it does not mean that the full game can be experienced on PC at this stage. Significant optimization and iteration will still be required in the future.
