Just over a month after the release of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, developer Cold Iron Studios has undergone layoffs. Parent company Enad Global 7 announced the news late last week, stating that subsequent development and support for the game will continue.
According to foreign media outlet InsiderGaming, this round of layoffs involves at least 19 people. Public records show that Cold Iron Studios had approximately 50 to 70 employees before the layoffs.
Enad Global 7 stated that this reduction in staff aligns with the original plan, aiming to lower the studio's operating costs to ensure its continued operation in the future. The company affirmed that Cold Iron Studios will remain focused on the development and support of Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2.
As of September 28, more than 11,000 people in the gaming industry have lost their jobs due to layoffs in 2026, involving 144 companies, with at least 32 studios closing. Regarding Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, Enad Global 7 stated that the Switch 2 version is currently planned for release in early 2027.
