The launch trailer for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Xiphos has been released. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Deluxe Edition players can jump in early before the Standard Edition launches on October 2.
The trailer showcases "Rex" and his Joker Flight squadron launching into action. They pilot their aircraft to attack various targets, including engagements with superweapons.
Beyond aerial combat, the story revolves around Rex's relationship with his wingman and the conflict between the Republic of Sotoa and Central Yugia. Previously, the game revealed a roughly 16-minute opening cinematic and a gameplay overview trailer.
Players who pre-order the Standard or Deluxe Edition will also receive a modern version of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War for free.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Xiphos Online Mode Overview
One of the two main modes in online play, "Co-op Warfare/PvPvE," is an ambitious mode where NPC forces join the battlefield alongside battles between 4-player squads!
As players remain active on the battlefield without being shot down, their "Threat Level," indicated by star icons, will gradually increase.
The higher the Threat Level, the more efficiently you can earn points; conversely, if you are shot down, your opponents will gain more points.
When the Threat Level reaches 3 stars, the player is designated an "Ace." Shootdowns between Aces will cause significant shifts in the match's score.
