Pre-orders have opened for the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X Standalone Edition, priced at $1299.99. The product page indicates that this handheld will officially go on sale and begin shipping on October 15.
When ASUS first showcased this handheld at Computex 2026, it announced a bundle with the Xreal R1 Edition 20 AR glasses as well as a standalone version of the handheld. At the time, the price and specific details for the standalone version were not yet clear. Now, ASUS has revealed the standalone price and plans to sell it through its own online store and Best Buy.
The standalone version is $300 more expensive than the standard ROG Xbox Ally X. The ROG Xbox Ally X 20th Anniversary Edition retains the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD, while featuring a smoky semi-transparent chassis.
Other changes include a 7.4-inch, 120Hz ROG Nebula HDR OLED screen with a claimed peak brightness of 1400 nits; the handheld's controller grip design has also been adjusted. Currently, the Best Buy page is accepting pre-orders at $1299.99.
