Naughty Dog.exe has begun development on two new The Last of Us projects, which are currently in very early stages. Studio head Neil Druckmann has not yet announced the specific format of the projects.
Druckmann revealed this news at the conclusion of "The Last of Us Day" celebrations. He stated that it's still too early to share many details, but these projects will expand the series' story beyond The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II.
Discussing the reasons for returning to the series, Druckmann said that the world of The Last of Us holds significant meaning for the team; they wouldn't return to this world without something worthwhile to express. He believes these new stories are worth telling.
Druckmann did not explicitly refer to the two new projects as games, nor did he reveal their respective content. Naughty Dog.exe is currently also developing Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, which is planned for a full reveal in 2027.
