Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will adjust the timing rules for Double XP Tokens: tokens will only count down during matches, and time spent waiting for the next match will no longer consume token duration.
Previously, Double XP Tokens in the Call of Duty series counted down in real time. Once activated, the timer would continue even if players were stuck in the lobby and unable to earn XP from matches. For example, with a 30-minute token, time spent waiting to enter the next match would also eat into its effective duration.
The official Call of Duty account confirmed that the new rules will take effect with the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and players' existing Double XP Tokens will remain usable. The game is scheduled for release in October.
