Publisher Gamirror Games announced that "The Mob," a suspenseful narrative game developed by Nanzhai Games, will launch on Steam in March 2027. Players will investigate the mystery of a suddenly vanished Maitreya statue from the perspectives of six different characters.
The game is set in the fictional county of Wushan, a ceramic hub in southern Fujian. The local Giant Maitreya Statue, which has stood for ages and been surrounded by various rumors, vanished without warning in 2009. Players will return to the month before its disappearance, following six characters with diverse backgrounds and experiences as they explore the small town, searching for clues through interpersonal relationships and local folklore.
"The Mob" centers on narrative exploration, combining scene investigation, character interactions, and light puzzle-solving. The story blends suspenseful crime, folk legends, and dark humor, presented through cinematic storytelling and comic-style panels that depict the gradually intertwining experiences of the six characters.
The game's demo was released in July 2025. Official data shows that the demo has accumulated over 2,600 player reviews on Steam, with a 98% positive rating.
