"Monster Hunter Traveler" has been announced to launch on iOS and Android on October 29, with over 20 million pre-registrations. This new entry in the Monster Hunter series supports 4-player cooperative hunting.
This title is a survival hunting action game designed for mobile platforms. Players will explore a new world as "Adventurers" rather than the series' traditional "Hunters," investigating traces left by special monsters known as "Fusion Light Species" on an island distinct from those in previous entries.
The game currently features seven weapons: Long Sword, Dual Blades, Great Sword, Hammer, Lance, Bow, and Heavy Bowgun, with plans to add more in future updates. Players can customize the appearance of their protagonist, the "Adventurer," and freely choose weapons for hunting.
During exploration, players can use fixed ziplines for quick traversal and glide with a glider. The game also features outdoor crafting elements such as watchtowers for viewing the map and ballistas that can repel monsters.
In addition to the protagonist, there are multiple playable characters categorized into "Striker" (focused on attack), "Supporter" (skilled in healing and defense), and "Tactician" (emphasizing flexible combat styles). For instance, Pepe, who wields the Heavy Bowgun, can engage in aerial combat by chaining jumps after landing hits on monsters; while Midori, using the Long Sword, can deal high damage by timing her attacks precisely.
"Monster Hunter Traveler" is developed by TiMi Studio Group and supervised by Capcom, scheduled for release on October 29.
