69-Year-Old Ray Lui Joins John Wick Spin-off 'Kaine', Films Fight Scenes with Donnie Yen

69-year-old Ray Lui stars alongside Donnie Yen in "Kaine," a spin-off of the "John Wick" series directed by and starring Yen, featuring fight scenes between the two. Recently returning to Hong Kong after completing filming in Europe, Lui commented on the action sequences, stating that Donnie Yen's choreography is "not easy to handle."

On the evening of September 28, Ray Lui attended a reception for Hong Kong's film and television industry with his wife, discussing his experience filming in Europe. He mentioned that he has always kept up with his workouts, which allowed him to perform his own action scenes, but fighting against Donnie Yen was still no easy task.

The crew originally planned for him to strip and show off his muscles in the film. To prepare, Ray Lui even added ab workouts to his routine; later, when this plan was canceled, he joked that the muscles he built were at least a gift to himself.

Lui also noted that Donnie Yen, serving as both lead actor and director for "Kaine," was extremely busy during production. With the film featuring English dialogue, Lui had to focus on dubbing work as well. Previously, Yen stated in an announcement that he was delighted to reprise the role of Kaine.
