Marvel's Wolverine Sells 20,039 Physical Copies in Japan During Launch Week! Less Than One-Third of Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Marvel's Wolverine sold 20,039 physical copies in its first week in Japan, lower than the同期 sales of Insomniac's previous Marvel's Spider-Man titles. Among them, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, also a PS5 title, achieved first-week physical sales of 77,348 copies, meaning Marvel's Wolverine sold less than one-third of that figure.

According to Famitsu's statistics for two other titles, the first-week physical sales of the PS4 version of Marvel's Spider-Man in Japan were 125,154 copies; combined PS4 and PS5 versions of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales totaled 41,522 copies. Among the four games, Marvel's Wolverine had the lowest first-week physical sales.

These figures only account for physical copies and do not include digital sales. Compared to PS4 titles or cross-platform releases, Marvel's Wolverine and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, both launched exclusively on PS5, allow for a more direct comparison of first-week physical sales.

Marvel's Wolverine also faced some criticism after its release. Developer Insomniac subsequently adjusted the presentation of Logan's scent trails in the game, reducing their visibility and lessening players' reliance on this guidance mechanic.
