On September 29, the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism responded to questions about whether Na Ying's performance of "The Curved Moon" at her concert required re-approval. After verification, it was confirmed that Na Ying only sang a snippet of the song during an audience interaction segment at her Chengdu concert and did not perform it in full. This does not constitute a change in program that would require re-approval.
Liu Huan passed away in Shanghai on September 25, and the University of International Business and Economics released an obituary. The following evening, at her concert in Chengdu, Na Ying referred to Liu Huan as her mentor and close friend, and paid tribute by singing "The Curved Moon," a song he had performed.
After the performance, some internet users expressed concern that adding a song not originally on the setlist might require re-approval or result in penalties. The Chengdu cultural and tourism authorities based their response on the fact that the song was only partially sung during an audience interaction segment and was not performed in its entirety.
