Recently, foreign media outlet GameInformer revealed optional leisure and mini-game content in the open world of GTA VI. The game's setting, the state of Leonida, features diverse landscapes corresponding to a wide range of land and water activities. In addition to main story missions, players can experience a variety of pastimes in the open world.
Confirmed activities include: BASE jumping, billiards, gym workouts, kayaking, mini-golf, scuba diving, street and off-road racing, visiting the zoo, airboat navigation, and jet skiing. In the previously extended gameplay demo, backyard underground wrestling was also showcased, where the protagonist Jason can participate in underground wrestling matches in exchange for hot dogs as payment.
Scuba diving in the game is no longer just simple swimming; players can dive to explore underwater caves and shipwreck ruins. Kayaks, airboats, and jet skis allow you to fully experience the wetland water systems replicating the Florida Everglades. The zoo is an interactive location that can be visited directly, with over 170 species of wildlife distributed across the entire map. Street and off-road racing cover various track environments, gym gameplay allows you to train your character's physical attributes, and mini-golf is a more casual, relaxing mini-game.
GTA VI will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. The game will initially feature only a single-player story mode, with the new online mode not launching simultaneously.
