Recently, foreign media outlet Game Informer revealed that the Leonida map in GTA 6 is reportedly the largest map Rockstar has ever created for its titles, approximately twice the size of the GTA V map.
Rockstar Art Director Garbut did not disclose the exact square kilometer figure for the map in an interview, but revealed that its overall scale is roughly twice that of GTA V. For reference, the map of Red Dead Redemption 2 is only slightly larger than that of GTA V.
Developers stated that the team meticulously polished every detail of the entire world, including rooftops, alleys, and a massive number of building interiors. The game features an unprecedented number of indoor scenes, achieving a seamless sense of realism between interior and exterior spaces. The entire game world is cohesive, with each area balancing content density and hand-crafted detail quality.
Beyond its vast size, the GTA 6 map features diverse terrains, including urban areas, Everglades wetlands, coastal islands, and national parks. It also includes a dynamic weather system with hurricanes and thunderstorms, as well as numerous side activities such as mini-golf, scuba diving, and kayaking.
