Recently, Aaron Garbut, Head of Development and Co-Head of Studio at Rockstar Games, stated that the team is striving to simultaneously enhance the world scale, detail, and interaction density in GTA 6. He mentioned that the project has brought significant pressure, as the team aims to deliver results that exceed expectations.
In an interview with Game Informer, Garbut explained that creating open-world games usually requires trade-offs between scale, detail, and interactivity. This time, the team attempted to elevate these aspects alongside the world's scope, breadth, and density. According to him, Rockstar has never created anything close to GTA 6 before.
GTA 6 will be released on November 19. This project has seen massive resource investment, with the team not simply expanding the map size but meticulously polishing every environmental detail. Rooftops, alleys, and a vast number of building interiors have all been hand-crafted to avoid the homogenized scenes often resulting from procedural generation, ensuring logical consistency and realism both inside and outside structures.
GTA 6 features an unprecedented volume of content, including numerous enterable indoor scenes, over 170 species of wildlife, and NPC groups with diverse body types and appearances. It also includes dynamic weather systems such as hurricanes and thunderstorms, along with a wide range of side leisure activities like mini-golf, scuba diving, and kayaking.
