Recent tests of the PS5 emulator KytyPS5 have showcased the performance of God of War: Ghost of Sparta. On a system equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the tested short clip achieved an average frame rate of approximately 137 FPS, with 1% Low frames at 65 FPS.

This test, conducted by PSXTech, shows an improvement in frame rates for the tested segment. However, the new video only displays a very brief portion of gameplay, making it impossible to determine if similar performance can be maintained throughout the entire playthrough, or whether the game can be completed from start to finish without issues.
The official repository description for KytyPS5 indicates that the emulator is still in its early stages, with limited compatibility and potentially significant variations in performance across different builds. Current development efforts remain focused on game launch compatibility and stability.
God of War: Ghost of Sparta is scheduled to launch on PS5 in February 2026. It is a 2D action-platformer telling the story of a young Kratos and Deimos, developed collaboratively by Mega Cat Studios and Santa Monica Studio.
