Not Canceled! 'Splinter Cell Remake' Continues to Hire to Expand Development Team

The development team for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Remake is still hiring. According to a report by InsiderGaming, Ubisoft has posted at least three job openings for the project in recent months, with two appearing in the past two weeks. The game was announced in 2021, and its development progress has been closely watched ever since.

The positions mentioned include Producer and Lead Level Designer. The Producer's job description involves recruiting new members, building the team, and mentoring staff; the Lead Level Designer is also expected to assist with hiring and help onboard newcomers.

Ubisoft has previously undergone layoffs, studio closures, and restructuring. This hiring spree may indicate that the team is expanding again after earlier downsizing. However, job postings do not reveal which stage of development the game has reached. A producer's responsibilities also include ensuring their assigned areas are completed on schedule, so hiring alone cannot be taken as evidence that the project is still in its early stages.

The last reliable public materials about the game appeared in 2024, including several screenshots, but these older assets hardly reflect its current state. In July, reports of development troubles sparked concerns about whether the game would ever ship; this latest hiring wave is not enough to answer those questions.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Remake is being developed by Ubisoft Toronto. The project was originally slated for an earlier release but was delayed due to internal issues at Ubisoft; the former project director returned to development late last year. The game still does not have a confirmed release date.
