Mario Kart Tour ceased operations on September 29, 2026. Third-party estimates indicate that the mobile game surpassed 276 million downloads and generated approximately $268.5 million in cumulative revenue during its run.
After the servers shut down, players could no longer access Mario Kart Tour, even if they had previously installed it. Nintendo currently has no plans to release an offline version of the game, unlike Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
The download and revenue figures above are estimates from AppMagic, cited by Mobilegamer.biz. Using the same estimation methodology, Mario Kart Tour was still generating approximately $650,000 in monthly revenue when Nintendo announced the end of service; in-app purchases in the US market accounted for 39% of its historical revenue.
For comparison, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is estimated to have achieved 75.5 million downloads and generated around $349.8 million in revenue. Mario Kart Tour received new content in July 2026, and most of its tracks were also included in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
