Elden Ring won numerous "Game of the Year" awards upon its release in 2022, but the game is not ready to rest on its laurels yet. On August 28, FromSoftware will release a major update for this open-world Soulslike game.
According to the official patch notes, this update aims to support the "Tarnished Pack" DLC, scheduled for release on Friday, August 28, 2026, and includes adjustments to game balance.The first major part of the update is related to preparations for the "Tarnished Pack" DLC, which will be released on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Purchasing the "Tarnished Pack" DLC will add the following content:
Added starting classes: Knight of Irdus and Heavy Knight, selectable during character creation.
Added new weapons, available for purchase from merchants or found throughout the Lands Between.
Added three spectral steeds that change Torrent's appearance:
Tree Sentinel's Spectral Steed: Can be found in Stormveil Castle.
Carian Silver Spectral Steed: Can be found at Liurnia Lake.
Spectral Steed of the Funeral Night: Can be found in the Altus Plateau.
Added NPC invasion events in Caelid.
Added NPC invasion events in Leyndell, Royal Capital.
