The Coalition has announced the schedule for Season 1 of Gears of War: E-Day. The season will run until December 1 and feature three limited-time events. This prequel takes the story back to the dawn of the Locust emergence; in addition to the single-player campaign, multiplayer gameplay is a key focus of this season's lineup.
The three events are themed around Halloween, the series' 20th anniversary, and "Thanksgibbing." Each lasts two weeks and includes a versus game mode, a Horde siege mission, and exclusive rewards.
Weekly challenges will refresh starting October 13, following the game's launch. The store rotates every Tuesday and offers free featured items.
Achievements in Gears of War: Reloaded are also tied to rewards: completing the "Prison Breakout" achievement unlocks Fire and Fenix poses; earning the "Re-Up" achievement grants the Old Guard medal and the Locked n’Reloaded title.
The Coalition stated that the duration of future seasons will vary, with specific details announced closer to each season's launch. The second season, titled "Legacy and Beyond," will focus on classic elements from the Gears of War series; subsequent seasons will be named "Infiltration," "Pendulum," and "Devotion."
